Bellway secures consent for additional 54 homes in County Durham

Bellway has secured planning consent to build an additional 54 homes at its Regency Manor development in Wynyard Village.

This will be Bellway’s third phase of homes at Regency Manor, on land at Wynyard Woods. The first phase of 138 homes is nearing completion and work is currently in progress on 66 homes next to Wynyard Primary School which are due to be completed in 2024.

Outline planning consent was granted for 130 homes and the delivery of a new local centre, located to the west of Maynard Grove, in December 2022. This wider development will generate investment of more than £2m in infrastructure, including education, healthcare and affordable homes.

Bellway and Cameron Hall Developments has now secured reserved matters consent from Stockton Borough Council. This gave approval of the detailed plans including the design and layout of the development, where Bellway will build four and five-bedroom homes.

Oliver Wray, sales manager for Bellway Durham, said: “Wynyard lies in a beautiful rural spot, and our plans for the next phase of Regency Manor will help to meet continued demand in this highly sought-after location.

“We have taken care to plan a high-quality and well-designed extension to the new neighbourhood which is already established here. This new phase will form a seamless continuation of our current scheme, offering spacious homes within a thoughtfully laid-out community.”

These new homes will be accessed from Stoney Wood Drive. The designs will be from Bellway’s flagship Artisan Collection, which is currently viewable at Regency Manor.

The scheme also includes public open space, including a children’s play area and a landscape buffer along the development’s eastern boundary with Castle Eden Walkway. Cameron Hall Developments will also build a local centre within the wider site.
