Rem Conway, Kudos Knight

Kudos Knight, the creative partnership between leading scripted producer Kudos and Peaky Blinders, SAS Rogue Heroes and This Town creator Steven Knight, today announced the appointment of Sex Education Producer Rem Conway as their Development Producer to spearhead their ambitious plans to grow a world renowned scripted production hub in the West Midlands.

Rem will work closely with the Kudos creative team to bring these projects, which will be made in the West Midlands, to life. Particular focus will be given to championing under-represented and previously unheard voices, to build the most creatively diverse and exciting pool of talent possible.

Barnaby Smith, Dan Glater & Chloe Xidhas, BW: Workplace Experts

Workplace Experts has announced three strategic hires to bolster its design and build team as the new division goes from strength to strength. Barnaby Smith and Dan Glater have been appointed as project directors and Chloe Xidhas has taken the role of operations manager.

Barnaby Smith joins from Oktra, bringing his extensive knowledge of the London design and build market alongside in-depth understanding of current client needs and priorities. He is an expert in problem solving to meet the challenges of supply and demand and deliver tangible, lasting solutions.

Dan Glater comes to the team from Stabb Interiors. He has been working in design and build for the last 15 years during which time he has worked with a large variety of clients in all sectors and industries.

Chloe Xidhas, formerly at Morgan Lovell, is a construction professional. Her key skills include strong leadership, organisation, managing projects on time and to budget and maintaining excellent long-term client relationships.

Andrew Bradley, managing director, BW: Workplace Experts said: “Barnaby, Dan and Chloe join the BW team at a time when our design and build division, established just 18 months ago, is growing at pace. From a standing start, the team is already on track to deliver £8m of projects.”

Lesley Still, Orbex

Orbex, the UK-based spaceflight company, has announced the appointment of Lesley Still as its new Chief of Spaceport Operations. This key appointment comes as Orbex advances its preparations for the UK mainland’s inaugural vertical rocket launch.

Lesley, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, brings four decades of aerospace industry experience to her new role. She has held strategic leadership positions throughout her career, specializing in the planning and delivery of effective ground and logistics operations to support commercial aerospace organisations.

In the newly created role of Chief of Spaceport Operations, Lesley will oversee the operational management of Sutherland Spaceport (formerly Space Hub Sutherland), ensuring its readiness for the first launch of Orbex Prime.

This includes managing the Spaceport Licence application and interacting with the various stakeholders involved. She will work closely with the local community and stakeholders to ensure that the facility plays an important role in the area. When the spaceport construction has concluded, she will also oversee the operations of the spaceport including critical areas such as health & safety.

“The next few months are critical for Orbex as we are building both a rocket and a spaceport at the same time,” said Martin Coates, CEO at Orbex. “Lesley’s extensive aerospace sector experience will be invaluable as we fine-tune our operations and get ready for our first launch. We look forward to her leadership and guidance as we continue our preparations.”
