Bryan Liddle, Salamander Pumps

Sunderland-based Salamander Pumps is aiming to put innovation at the centre of its ambitious growth plans this year with the announcement of Bryan Liddle as Sales Director. Salamander Pumps is one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of water boosting solutions, providing shower pump products to homeowners far and wide.

With over 40 years of experience in the industry, Bryan gained invaluable insight and knowledge working through the ranks at Aalberts Industries, formerly known as Yorkshire Fittings. During this time, Bryan played a significant role in helping the business internationally, including in America and parts of the Far East.

After helping build more than 15 different sales teams in his career, Bryan has joined Salamander Pumps to lead on the wider sales strategy and help fuel continued growth. The Sunderland manufacturer is confident that the senior appointment of Bryan, as well as the strength of its internal development programme, will ensure the business reaches its ambitious goals in 2024.

Brandon Williams, Asbestos Audit

Peterlee-based, Asbestos Audit, has announced the appointment of Brandon Williams as trainee surveyor. Brandon, 26, from Washington, was a CAD technician at the company for two years before taking up his new role. Brandon’s new position highlights the company’s commitment to training and retaining its staff and he has already achieved a BHOS P402, one of two surveying qualifications recognised within the asbestos industry.

Asbestos Audit operates across the UK, providing UKAS accredited asbestos surveys, inspections, removal and testing. The company also has a rapidly growing demolition division, that includes salvage and soft strip out.

Brandon, said: “I joined the company two years ago as a CAD technician and I am really pleased to now progress as a trainee surveyor and work under the supervision of Ryan Moorhead, technical and quality manager. As well as learning the theory, I am picking up great experience working on live projects, shadowing a member of the team and learning how surveys are conducted. I have also assisted clients with asbestos-related issues.”

Fiona Ryans, Hay & Kilner

North East law firm Hay & Kilner has strengthened its specialist family law team with the appointment of experienced solicitor Fiona Ryans.

Fiona has joined the Newcastle-headquartered practice as a Senior Associate and has a wide range of experience across all aspects of family breakdown, with a particular emphasis on financial matters and child arrangements. She brings with her a range of specialist accreditations and a sought-after collaborative skill set, giving even further depth to the experienced family law team at Hay & Kilner.
