West London business park launches new sports facilities amid refurbishment

Bloom Heathrow has partnered with Game4Padel to bring two new padel courts to its exemplar office park.

Unveiled this week the new courts will be open to people who work at the business park, as well as the wider community. Padel is the world’s fastest growing sport, played in over 100 countries, by an estimated 25 million players. Once open the courts must be booked in advance via the Matchi app.

Henley Investment Management, together with its asset management partner, Colmore Capital, is committed to providing occupiers with a rounded experience and has recently delivered amenity upgrades at Bloom Heathrow which include a new café operated by Houston & Hawkes, a 1km trim trail, EV charging points, occupier app and more.

Tom Webster, senior asset manager at Henley Investment Management, commented: “Padel is going to be a great addition at Bloom. We have seen how popular the game is becoming all around the UK and can see the courts being in high demand from people who work at the office park, as well as people who live in the local area.

“A key part of our proposition at Bloom is to provide exemplary workspace alongside extensive amenities, including a range of sports facilities to encourage healthy lifestyles and social interaction.”

Game4Padel co-founder and CEO, Michael Gradon, added: “Padel is a highly social game so we think it will do really well here at Bloom, where work colleagues can play during the day or after work.

“We are seeing more business parks planning to add padel, because they can see the sport has so many positives such as building communities and improving the physical and mental health of the workforce.”

Bloom, formerly New Square, Bedfont Lakes, is undergoing an extensive programme of upgrades to provide exceptional Grade A, sustainability and wellness focused office accommodation.

Refurbishment works to Building 5 recently completed and an extensive refurbishment to Building 3 which includes a rooftop terrace extension with panoramic views will be available from Q1 2024. The approach from Henley is reflective of the business’ commitment to deliver impact-led improvements across its portfolio and investments.
