Newcastle Eagles secure ‘hottest booking’ with extended partnership and sponsor

Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles have secured this year’s ‘hottest booking’ with Maldron Hotel Newcastle.

A partnership stretching back three years continues to go from strength to strength on and off the court. And across the 2023-24 season Maldron Newcastle will continue as the Eagles’ Official Hotel Partner as well as reserving its place as the club’s back of shirt sponsor.

Jemma Cross, director of sales and marketing, Maldron Hotel Newcastle, commented: “We have thoroughly enjoyed the benefits of this positive partnership. Not only has it given us excellent brand exposure and new business opportunities, but it has also given us the chance to involve and reward our team.

“That’s always been one of the most important parts of our business. The Eagles are a great brand to align ourselves with and we’re delighted to see them move forward and into Europe this season. At the same time, it’s great to see the club and Foundation continue with all of the excellent work that they carry out in Newcastle’s communities.”

The city centre hotel opened in 2018 and has been ‘leading the way’ with local business collaborations and innovations in recent years, including the addition of a ‘Butler Bot’ pilot highlighting Maldron’s commitment to modernising the hospitality experience in partnership with Newcastle based tech ‘pioneer’ SPARK EPoS.

Jemma and her colleagues have hosted Great Britain’s senior men’s basketball team on several occasions following the decision to stage elite international basketball at the Vertu Motors Arena. And the Eagles’ long-awaited move into Europe underlines the importance of having a trusted hotel partner on the club’s doorstep.

Paul Blake, managing director of Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles, added: “This is a key partnership for the Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles and especially in this new era as we enter the European North Basketball League (ENBL).

“Our city will be welcoming clubs and officials from across Europe throughout the year and Maldron Hotel Newcastle has a proven record when it comes to hosting international visitors.

“It’s become a popular home from home for the Great Britain squad and we’re delighted to be continuing to work with Jemma and her colleagues as more global basketball teams head to Tyneside.

“Maldron Hotels is a fast-growing brand in the UK and beyond. It’s great to be working with the team here in Newcastle as well as the wider Dalata Hotel Group at such an exciting time for British and European basketball.”
