LSE incubator scheme sets out to support the food and drink entrepreneurs of tomorrow

On November 23rd LSE Generate (the entrepreneurship hub of the London School of Economics and Political Science) will launch its eagerly anticipated sector-focused deep dive pilot programme.

It’s an initiative to bring academia and the nation’s bustling food & drink scene closer together as part of a pioneering collaborative programme to offer entrepreneurship as a viable alternative career path to students historically more accustomed to preparing for careers in banking, management consultancy or government/policy-making roles.

Over the past decade LSE has celebrated over 200+ graduates founding F&B businesses post-graduation, with dynamic LSE alumni responsible for establishing trail-blazing businesses as diverse as Hello Fresh, Five Guys, Dalston’s Soda, Toast, Cutter & Squidge, Nix & Kix, Love Corn……to name but a few.

The London School of Economics with its rich food & drink heritage and capital geography is perfectly placed to reach out to the UK’s bustling food & drink scene, offering future, fledgling and scaling food & beverage entrepreneurs an all-encompassing deep dive into the frenetic world of SME entrepreneurship by providing hands on mentorship.

According to Laura-Jane Silverman, Head of LSE Generate, “at the heart of our groundbreaking initiative is a vision to design and curate a bespoke impact-driven programme geared at supporting current and future food & drink entrepreneurs – we feel uniquely positioned to be running this.”

As the launch plan takes shape with industry luminaries such as John Vincent (co-founder of the popular healthy fast food chain Leon) and Jade Hoai (Director of Purchasing & Operations, Whole Food Market UK) already committed to the programme’s November 23rd opening.

LSE is still on the lookout for other leading voices within the UK’s world class food scene would be interested in lending any wisdom, support and time to such a well-meaning food & drink initiative.
