Engineering design consultancy drives ‘significant growth’ at Manchester office

A global engineering design consultancy has announced significant growth at its North West office, located in central Manchester adjacent to Piccadilly Station.

Black & White (B&W) Engineering, which specialises in a diverse range of sustainable MEP design services across the data centre, building and power systems industries, established its Manchester office at the beginning of the year.

Led by a highly skilled leadership team consisting of three senior MEP professionals, Jonathan Mitchell, Devan Moodley, and Luke Armstrong, the 10-strong team has already contributed significantly to part of B&W’s European growth strategy, driving new business and securing client wins across Europe.

Jonathan, Devan and Luke are leaders in their respective engineering fields with nearly eight decades of industry experience between them.

Devan Moodley, Technical Director, who leads the Power Systems team and Manchester office, commented: “Manchester’s vibrant tech hub was the perfect location for our continued expansion and the North West team has played a key role in our growth not just on a national level but globally too.

“We’re keen to tap into the region’s local talent pool and expertise to strengthen our MEP design offerings to clients in the data centre, power systems and building services industries.

“Our focus is not just growth, it’s about nurturing a hub of innovation that reflects the energy and expertise of the region, driving forward the future of MEP design in the North West and beyond.”

In the next 12 months, the Manchester office is set for continued expansion by adding it to its team and providing a strong structure for talent development and employee progression within the organisation. In February, the Manchester team will expand into new offices within the same building.

Steven Horn, UK and Europe Director at B&W Engineering, added: “The Manchester office is crucial to our UK and European markets. Its rapid growth from three employees when it first opened to 10 dedicated professionals is a direct result of our global strategy to integrate local talent with our expansive specialist network.

“We’re a people-first organisation that’s based on a ‘one global team’ ethos. This approach not only drives growth but recognises our commitment to creating and developing a collaborative, worldwide network of professionals unified in purpose and excellence to succeed.”
