‘First-of-its-kind’ Ibis Styles hotel set to boost local economy in coastal UK town

In a significant boost to the local economy, Ibis Styles, the internationally recognised hotel brand ‘celebrated for its creative designs’, has today announced the opening of ibis Styles hotel in Paignton.

The ibis Styles Paignton is set to open its doors on Tuesday January 16, 2024 and follow the success of its neighbouring establishment, the Mercure Paignton Hotel, both operated by RBH Hospitality and franchised by the esteemed Accor group. The two new sea-front hotels signify a collective investment for the region of £70m.

Representing a substantial £30m investment in the local area, this latest addition to the brand’s UK collection aims to redefine the business and leisure landscape in South Devon. The hotel also boasts the unique distinction of being the first in the ibis Styles UK collection to feature a dry spa with three beauty treatment rooms alongside a gym.

The new opening is poised to have a positive impact on the local economy and hospitality scene. The creation of 30 jobs, as part of this new venture, as well as the unique offer to local residents and tourists visiting the area, is set to further enhance the local economy.

The announcement also signals a significant step in the resurgence of the Riviera town, combined with Torbay Council’s commitment to improving the promenade and sea defences as part of the Paignton and Preston seafront masterplan.

The all-day dining experience at Deller’s Cafe, with sea views and British seaside meets American diner cuisine, adds to the offering.
