Recruitment giving you a headache? Two events not to miss during National Apprenticeship Week

Recruitment and retention are two of the biggest challenges for businesses – getting the right talent to join your team and then giving them a reason to stay is something many businesses spend a lot of time looking at.

Two free online events delivered by the North East LEP next week, will offer insights into how Apprenticeships and T Levels can help you attract top talent.

The first event, Why does an apprenticeship make sense for your business?, will be held on 6 February.

Led by award-winning entrepreneur and Chair of the North East LEP Business Growth Board, Ammar Mirza CBE, who will explain:

  • Why it’s time to reconsider an apprenticeship for your business.
  • The free 121 tailored support to help you onboard apprenticeships from creating the role and advertising vacancies to finding the right training provider and everything in between.
  • How the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) can share your vacancy to its audience. Did you know that 40% of young people and adults signing up to the UCAS site are interested in apprenticeships?

The second event, How businesses are attracting top talent through T Levels, on 8 February, will explain T Level industry placements and how can they help you spot top talent.

Led by Louise Doyle, co-founder and CEO of a software-as-a-service provider, Mesma, you’ll find out more about the T Level offer in the North East and hear from employers who are already hosting T Level industry placements and learn about the support available to help you.

T Levels are the government’s flagship technical education programme, combining in-classroom learning and an industry placement. Hosting industry placements will help you grow your talent pipeline, bring in new skills and attract bright, interested young people into your organisation – many even stay on to become the workforce of the future.

Don’t miss out – sign up for the free online events today.

Taking place from 5 to 11 February 2024, National Apprenticeship Week brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to celebrate the achievements of apprentices and the positive impact they make to communities, businesses, and the wider economy.
