Newcastle city centre office expansion for ‘leading’ professional services business

Professional services business Knights has revealed plans to move into Newcastle city centre’s latest grade A office.

Knights is growing significantly in the North East, with colleagues in Newcastle and Teesside working as part of a team of more than 1,200 professionals across 23 offices nationwide. Their 40-strong team in Newcastle will soon be based in a ‘state-of-the-art’ office on the seventh floor of Bank House on Pilgrim Street.

Knights join existing tenants Barclays, law firm DAC Beachcroft, international management consultancy Oliver Wyman, and insurer Lycetts at the 14-storey building, which is the first of three new sustainable office properties that will transform the southern end of Pilgrim Street.

Flexible workspace provider Cubo has also recently opened at Bank House after taking a lease on the top two floors of the building. The 207-foot-high property, designed by Ryder Architecture and built by Bowmer + Kirkland, is expected to become home to more than 1,000 workers when it is fully occupied.

The move to Bank House is part of Knights’ investment in premium, grade A office spaces to provide clients with even better access to the comprehensive range of expertise Knights offers as the fastest-growing, and largest, regional professional services business in the UK.

Lisa Shacklock, client services director at Knights who leads the team in Newcastle, commented: “The move to Bank House is an exciting step for our team. It is the latest investment in our people as we continue to grow across the North East.

“We have already attracted some top talent in Newcastle since we arrived in June 2023 and this fantastic new office ensures we can create an environment that matches the premium service we offer.”

The deal is the sixth letting at Bank House since the building officially opened in May 2023, and sees occupancy levels reach 50 per cent.

Joint letting agent Adam Lawson, graduate surveyor at Avison Young, added: “With a host of top-quality facilities, Bank House is ideal for dynamic and innovative businesses who want to provide best in class workspace for their people.

“I’m sure the Knights team will settle into their new office quickly and benefit from the great location as they look to invest to secure their future growth needs.”
