Naylors Gavin Black signals ‘new era’ as they get set to move into new office space in Newcastle
As part of ambitious growth plans and to help meet its sustainability goals, commercial property specialist Naylors Gavin Black has signed a deal to move into brand-new, Grade A offices at One Strawberry Lane in Newcastle city centre.
The move is aimed at better supporting the wellbeing of its 38-strong team, improving client meeting provision, boosting green credentials and attracting and retaining future talent and clients.
The 3,000 sq. ft. office on the second floor of the high-spec, newly-built 70,000 sq. ft. office building near St James Park, benefits from onsite amenities including collaborative and social spaces, a café, cycle storage and showers.
Naylors Gavin Black is the leading independent commercial property consultancy in the north east and has seen its head-count increase in recent years due to expansion. In particular, its building consultancy team has a buoyant pipeline of work and its property asset management department now manages over 3.5 million square feet of UK commercial space, for clients including Buccleuch, Cable Properties & Investment, and Europark.
The firm is part of the Commercial Property Network which gives its clients national reach as part of an affiliation with 30 other independent commercial property consultancies across the UK.
Managing partner, Angus White, said: “As a business we are constantly evolving but never faster than in the last few years, post-pandemic. The office upgrade is part of our strategy to attract and retain the very best people, reduce our carbon footprint, improve our employee benefits, strengthen business development and boost our reputation as a dynamic, progressive team of professionals who are experts in their fields.”
Naylors has signed a 10-year lease and is fitting-out its office in time for a move-in date this spring. Knight Frank and Savills managed the deal on behalf of Home Group which owns One Strawberry Lane.
Partner, Chris Donabie, adds: “This is a very exciting time for the whole team – the move signals a new era for the firm which is going from strength to strength.”
