£1.3bn Olympia transformation scheme moves forward with flexible workspace provider

Olympia, one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects currently under development by Yoo Capital and Deutsche Finance International, has signed an agreement with IWG, a provider of flexible workspace, as the demand for hybrid working accelerates.

Totalling circa 73,000 sq ft and spanning the entire 5th floor level of One Olympia,  IWG, the flexible workspace provider behind bespoke locations including The Engine Room at Battersea Power Station will further expand its footprint in London.

This latest location comes amidst growing demand for an integrated and dynamic office environment that will support the future communities at the £1.3bn transformation scheme of Olympia.

From high-end recording studios to multimedia content creation to podcast rooms, the new opening will raise industry standards and allow creative talent and entrepreneurial spirit to flourish as well as providing flexible workspace facilities and high quality office space for companies of all types.

Opening in 2025, Olympia will become the new cultural landmark for London - uniting art, education, music, entertainment, food, drink and work. Forming part of the wider development, One Olympia will deliver over 550,000 sq ft of office space within a state-of-the-art building co-designed by Heatherwick Studio and SPPARC.

With wellbeing, creative, access and openness central to the Olympia ethos, it will boast over 50,000 sq ft of external terrace space and amenities including West London’s largest and platinum accredited cycle and wellness hub, a ‘live lounge’ F&B venue, gym as well as business events, conference and production space.

John Hitchcox, Chairman, YOO Group, commented: “From the outset, our vision for Olympia has always been to create a cultural ecosystem in West London that sparks creativity and promotes interconnectivity. As society redefines how and where we want to work, live and play; a greater sense of flexibility and autonomy is crucial.

“This new signing with IWG not only endorses the strength of our vision for Olympia, but demonstrates our testament to delivering inspiring workspaces that support and appeal to a like-minded and collaborative community.”

Mark Dixon, CEO & Founder of IWG, added: “We are very pleased to work in partnership with Olympia and add a cutting-edge workspace offering to their building in this landmark location. The demand for hybrid working continues to soar, and West London is a fantastic place for us to boost our expansion plans.

“This latest signing comes at a time when more and more companies are discovering that flexible working boosts employee happiness and satisfaction, while helping the environment. Our workplace model is also proven to increase productivity and allows for a business to scale up or down at significantly reduced costs.”
