London’s Design District

London’s Design District emerges as home for ‘industry-leading’ creative tech companies

London’s Design District has become home to a suite of creative technology businesses in the wake of a collection of creative tech brands relocating to the site, with several companies expanding their teams and space requirements due to a successful tenancy on-site.

Brain Audio, Engage Works, Observatory and Carter now occupy 10,520 sq. ft of commercial space in Design District’s purpose-built work and studio spaces, having made the move from other areas of the capital in search of better facilities, purpose-built space, and a wider creative community.

The formation of a creative tech cluster at Design District consolidates it as one of London’s top workspace destinations for the creative industries.

Emma Mansell, Head of London’s Design District at Greenwich Peninsula commented: “We’re pleased to see this creative tech cluster form at Design District. The term ‘creative industries’ has undoubtedly expanded over the years to include evolving disciplines and sectors and Design District is right at the frontier of this.

“Businesses continue to relocate to Design District in search of a wider, symbiotic creative community that nurtures and facilitates growth alongside cutting-edge facilities and purpose-built space.

“Brain Audio, Engage Works, Observatory and Carter are all working with global clients, producing remarkable work and I’m proud that Design District can act as their creative backdrop.

“Our ability to tailor workspace to suit commercial needs, coupled with the first-class amenities onsite reasserts Design District as a second-to-none home for innovative and dynamic creative brands.”

Relocating from Hackney, independent audio post-production company Brain Audio has leased 1,345 sq. ft of purpose-built, flexible space. The space is capable of housing its Dolby Atmos mixing studio in addition to four studios for sound and podcast recording, doubling the facilities available in its previous headquarters.

Counting Netflix, Meta, and the BBC in its client roster, Brain Audio required tailor-made commercial space, embedded in a wider creative community.

Chris Branch, Co-Founder at Brain Audio, added: “After 16 years we had outgrown our previous workspace, but our requirements for a new space were very specific. Design District fit our brief perfectly as we not only found a space which was affordable, but we’ve also been given free rein to make it bespoke to our services.”
