EA Networks reaches 100k connections milestone
Final mile network operator EA Networks (EA N) has recorded its 100,000th connection, thanks to significant project completions over the last 12 months with EV charge point companies, housebuilders and commercial developers.
EA N, part of the Energy Assets Group, achieved notable successes across all its markets, winning landmark energy network adoption schemes such as St. John’s, a new Manchester neighbourhood development, and a major EV rapid charging hub at Oxford Services.
“Reaching 100,000 network connections is so much more than a number,” said Jayson Whitaker, Manager Director at EA N. “It’s a milestone that demonstrates our success in energising the sustainable infrastructure that will be so important in helping the UK achieve its net zero ambitions. And there’s much more in the pipeline.
“Take electric vehicles for example. Here, we’re partnering with major charge point operators across Britain, ensuring that networks are specified to manage current and anticipated loads at each charge point site, obviating the need for reinforcement at a later date. Our inhouse legal team and commercial offer enable operators to build out locations quickly and cost-effectively, which is key to ramping up charge point capacity and boosting demand for zero emissions vehicles.”
EA N is also at the forefront of innovation for housebuilders and commercial property developers, with smart cabinets providing the granular network performance data needed to run dynamic load management systems.
In addition, the company’s design expertise makes it possible for technologies such as solar, battery storage, heat pumps, EV charge points, vehicle-to-grid, and vehicle-to-load (to connected appliances) to work in harmony across networks to optimise energy efficiency, safeguard capacity and reduce the nation’s carbon footprint. And on constrained sites, EA N has proven how artificial intelligence can be used to manage loads to optimise network capacity.
