Fivetran reaches 500 connectors milestone and expands market-leading enterprise data platform

Adds new data lake destinations, security features, partner integrations and Fivetran Lite Connectors to cap a year of innovation

6 March 2024 — Fivetran, the global leader in data movement, today announced that the company now offers more than 500 connectors. Fivetran has the largest number of connectors of any data movement platform – a capstone achievement in a year of continued growth and product innovation for the company. In 2023, Fivetran expanded its enterprise-grade platform with new data lake support, security features such as private deployment and HITRUST certification that address customers’ need for highly secure data environments, Fivetran Lite connectors, and partner integrations.

“Global customers such as Autodesk, JetBlue and Morgan Stanley rely on Fivetran’s data platform every day to support AI/ML workloads, operational use cases like SAP, Oracle and IBM database replication, predictive analytics, and self-service analytics to power data-driven decision making,” said George Fraser, co-founder and CEO of Fivetran. “2023 was marked by continued product innovation with significant advancements in security, compliance, speed and scale. We have never been more bullish about our mission to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity and help companies accelerate innovation.”

In 2023, Fivetran continued to advance its position as the world’s most reliable data integration platform with one-minute syncs, 99.9 percent guaranteed uptime, and record usage by customers. Each month, Fivetran’s platform moves more than 3,600 TB of data and manages more than 2.1 million schema changes. Fivetran runs in all three of the major cloud service providers (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure), and in 2023 expanded to support more than 25 cloud regions.

In October, IDC conducted an independent study on the business value of Fivetran, concluding the platform achieved an annual productivity benefit of an average of $1.5 million in cost savings per customer with a three-year ROI of +400 percent. Just this week, analyst firm GigaOm published a data replication benchmark report: Fivetran HVR vs. Qlik Replicate. The report shows Fivetran HVR has 27x lower latency and is 63 percent less expensive than Qlik Replicate.

Fivetran introduced a number of key product innovations critical to enterprises in 2023 including:

  • Support for Amazon S3 with Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake, which delivers large-volume, cost-effective data storage with simple access and comprehensive compliance.
  • Support for Microsoft OneLake through an integration with Microsoft Fabric as a new data lake destination and support for Delta Lake on Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen2. This provides customers with two Microsoft data lake destinations to securely consolidate their data workloads with any of Fivetran’s pre-built, fully managed data pipelines.
  • Fivetran Private Deployment, which enables highly secure organisations managing defence, healthcare, finance and other sensitive data the option to host Fivetran on-premises or in their own virtual private cloud (VPC).
AWS GovCloud Support, which enables government agencies to deploy Fivetran using AWS GovCloud to meet specific regulatory government requirements for handling data.
  • Certified status by HITRUST in all cloud regions worldwide to support the protection of highly-sensitive information, including healthcare data.
Fivetran Trust Centre - a user-friendly portal with easy access to Fivetran's comprehensive security and compliance certifications, including SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, CyberEssentials and more.
  • Fivetran Lite Connectors, which leverage the latest in generative AI and natural language processing technologies, enabling the development of connectors for virtually any SaaS application. With Fivetran’s By Request Programme, new Lite connectors can be built in as little as 30 days – so customers don’t have to spend precious engineering resources on connector development.
  • Software Developer Kits (SDKs), which enable third-party vendors to build integrations on Fivetran’s infrastructure and enhance speed to market of new connectors and destinations. When partners build connectors and destinations, they become part of the Fivetran offering and may be used by our customers.

Fivetran also continued to expand its partner ecosystem as part of an award-winning year. The company was named Databricks Innovation Partner of the Year, Google Cloud’s Data Ingestion Partner of the Year, and dbt Labs’ Technology Partner of the Year. As an SAP Silver Partner, Fivetran expanded its SAP data replication capabilities with the build out of integrations to SAP HANA and SAP ECC sources, and is currently developing connectors for SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, and SAP OData. Partnering with dbt Labs, Fivetran announced a new orchestration integration with dbt Cloud, enabling enterprises to seamlessly manage data movement and transformations all within the same platform.

In addition, Fivetran was named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, the 2023 Forbes Cloud 100, the Inc. 5000, and San Francisco Business Times’ Fastest Growing Private Companies list. Fivetran moved from Niche to Challenger in the 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Data Integration and was awarded the Ventana Research 2023 Digital Leadership Award.
