For IzzoSew Studio, the grants provided by Skills Bank have facilitated advanced training courses in patternmaking and design at the University of the Arts London. Armed with newfound skills and expertise, Izzy Butcher and her team are poised to expand their global footprint, offering innovative sewing patterns and online video tutorials to a growing international audience.

Similarly, Whiteley's has embarked on a digital marketing and social media training programme to enhance its online presence and engage with a broader demographic. With guidance from digital marketing and social media training firm, SocialB, the company is promoting its rich heritage to attract fresh customers globally, while enhancing loyalty within their existing client base.

A Shared Vision:

Despite operating in different spheres - one in textiles and the other in metallurgy - both IzzoSew Studio and Whiteley's share a common goal: to honour their heritage while embracing the future.

Both businesses recently applied for Skills Bank funding and following introductions by their SYMCA Skills Advisor, they then organised mutual visits, shared experiences, and engaged in discussions on the revival of home sewing, pattern making, and the precision of sewing scissors and garment shears, highlighting the complementary nature of their businesses.

As they continue to write the next chapters of their businesses, IzzoSew Studio and William Whiteley & Sons serve as beacons of inspiration for aspiring artisans and entrepreneurs alike.
