Anwyl Homes aims for take-off with RAF base plans
A builder plans to create a 150-home estate after striking a deal for ex-airbase land.
Anwyl Homes has bought a 12.6-acre section of the former RAF Burtonwood site, on the outskirts of Warrington.
Officials at the Chorley and Ewloe-based builder say the proposed 153-property development would feature three, four and five-bedroom houses, as well as two and three-bedroom affordable homes.
Work is expected to start in the spring.
The homes will sit as part of the wider Omega regeneration scheme, which is transforming the ex-600-acre RAF Burtonwood airbase into a home and leisure site.
John Grime, Anwyl Homes Lancashire managing director, said: “The Omega development has created a vibrant new neighbourhood in west Warrington.
“We’ve been keen to be a part of the new neighbourhood and are pleased to have acquired one of the last remaining parcels of land.”
Anwyl Homes agreed its land deal with Omega Warrington, which operates as a subsidiary of M2 Group.
David Milloy, M2 Group managing director, added: “Anwyl Homes is a welcome addition to Omega.
“It’s professionalism enabled the sale to be completed in a swift manner, and we wish Anwyl all the best with the development.”
Kieran McLaughlin, senior director of CBRE Manchester, acted as agent for the vendors.
Deloitte LLP acted for Anwyl, with Addleshaw Goddard LLP acting for the vendors.
