Vet practice launches with pet owner cost pledge
A vet clinic has launched with the promise of keeping pet owners’ pockets in better health.
Vita Referrals has opened in Wetherby.
And bosses say the independent operator will “do things in a different way… by keeping prices at a realistic level”.
The Thorp Arch Estate-based practice is led by experienced trio Rob Quinn, Nick Blackburn and Stuart Cooke.
Having already brought together a 15-strong team, they expect to recruit a further five staff across the next year, as the venture treats injuries and illnesses including spinal conditions, cruciate disease, fractures, arthritis and canine hip replacements.
Co-founder Rob said: “There are three major companies which own the vast majority of vet practices in the UK.
“That is not necessarily of benefit to those using the services, as prices can rise when competition is low.
“We felt very strongly that there was a different way to do things.
“No one becomes a vet to see animals suffer or pet owners struggle to make tough financial decisions.
“It’s time there was more disruption and competition in the sector, which will, ultimately, only be a good thing for pets, owners and vets.”
