My Property Box expands with agency deals
An estate agent has expanded with two takeovers.
My Property Box has bought lettings agencies John Prest and Landlords 2.
The deals add more than 450 managed properties to the Darlington and Newcastle-based operator’s portfolio.
They come after My Property Box secured multi-million-pound growth support from investor BGF in the summer.
Its deal for fourth-generation John Prest, based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, follows the retirement of directors John Prest and son Mark.
Under the terms of the deal, its high street base will be retained, as will its brand and two staff.
My Property Box manager Clare Bopari will oversee the operation.
The company’s Landlords 2 agreement was also prompted by the retirement of long-serving director Tim Haigh.
The business’ Coniscliffe Road office has now closed, with all services integrated into My Property Box.
Ben Quaintrell, founder and chief executive of My Property Box, said: “These acquisitions are an important part of our strategy to strengthen our market presence across the North East and North Yorkshire.”
John Prest added: “Our family has proudly run this business across four generations, but after thoughtful consideration, we believed it was the right time to pass the baton.”
