Tiger Energy pounces to help businesses save
A legal expert has launched a new venture he says will drive change in the business energy sector.
Phil Young has set up Tiger Energy Consultants.
The Sunderland-based lawyer says it will offer businesses tailored energy solutions that cut costs while promoting transparency and accountability for small and medium-sized firms.
With two decades of legal experience, including major transport projects across Europe, Phil aims to use his expertise to help businesses navigate complex energy contracts.
Citing how Tiger Energy recently helped a local restaurant slash its electricity bill by more than half to £7200, without any changes in energy consumption, he said: “It’s a joy to help businesses at their critical early stages, forming long-term partnerships that grow as they do.
“My experiences working within law, coupled with my energy experience, means I have the strength and agility to tackle challenges head-on.”
Highlighting his endeavour's Tiger name, he added: “I wanted something memorable that conveyed our commitment to fighting for our customers.”
The company’s growing list of clients span from ethical superstores in Glastonbury to a national laundrette chain and a major bus operator.
Phil is also particularly passionate about supporting start-ups, having provided guidance to emerging businesses through Sunderland’s Business Innovation Centre.
One such business is Harrison & Brown Furniture, located in Sunderland.
Mandy Brown, managing director, added: “Tiger Energy Consultants were able to save us 24 per cent on our electricity bills, as well as more than five per cent on our gas bills.
“It’s comforting to know they are there throughout the duration of supply agreements, allowing us to plan our business finances with confidence.”
