Carney Consultancy nears 200 client milestone
A North East construction consultancy is closing in on a major milestone after strong growth and expansion across the UK.
Carney Consultancy, which is headquartered in North Shields and specialises in construction and engineering, providing health and safety consultancy and training, is approaching 200 clients following a 64 per cent increase in turnover over two years, driven by a 22 per cent rise in retained clients.
The firm, led by managing director Angela Carney and directors Martin Crammond and David Wadds, has extended its geographical reach beyond its North East base, securing clients in the North West, Northern Ireland and Yorkshire.
Angela, who founded the company in 2002, said: “It is wonderful to look back over the last 20 plus years and reflect on all the clients we have represented. It will be fantastic to reach the 200-client milestone.
“Like all businesses, we have had to be resilient at times, but it is thanks to colleagues, old and new, that we continue to expand and build on our service offering.
“I am very grateful that we get to work with a vast range of clients who are benefitting from our services.
“I would like to specifically mention InterCeil, based in Blyth, my first ever customer 23 years ago and are still with us, today.”
Recent client wins include John N Dunn Group, H. Malone & Sons Ltd, NEG Architectural Systems and Northern Gas and Power.
The company has also expanded its services, launching a new division focused on fire door inspections and providing specialist sustainability training to staff, as well as recruiting ex-military personnel transitioning to civilian careers.
Angela added: “It is well known that I am passionate about building the careers of people entering our industry and when we employ people, we lay out a clear training programme spanning a two-to-five-year period, with milestones and rewards for each step reached.
“So, employees have goals and routes to achieve them. We’ve invested in all our consultants and that has, ultimately, led to an enhanced service offering for our clients as well as organic growth across the business.”
