Tech firm ION celebrates “transformative year”
A Newcastle-based technology company that is “helping shape the future of education finance” is celebrating a landmark year after securing £5.5 million in new contract sales.
ION, headquartered in Gosforth Great Park, has become one of Sage’s most successful UK partners, delivering financial management solutions to schools, multi-academy trusts (MATs) and colleges, by helping institutions streamline funding and enhance financial planning using Sage Intacct.
In 2024, the company formed high-profile partnerships with leading MATs and colleges across the UK, while also hosting webinars and thought leadership initiatives to address specific financial challenges faced by education leaders.
Looking ahead, ION, which was named Sage Intacct Industry Specialist Partner of the Year in 2024, has expanded its Gosforth Great Park headquarters to accommodate its growing team of 30 employees, with plans to further expand its market reach.
Rob Mathieson, chief executive officer of ION, said: “2024 has been a transformative year for ION.
“Our success stems from our incredible team and the customers who trust us to innovate and deliver solutions that make a difference.
“Together, we’re shaping the future of education finance.”
