Knights strengthens Newcastle team with hire
National law firm Knights has appointed Christian Butler as a partner in its Newcastle family law team, reinforcing its growth in the North East.
A specialist in high- and ultra-high net worth divorces, Christian brings over a decade of experience, most recently as a partner and head of family law at Hay & Kilner.
His expertise includes complex financial settlements, asset protection and emergency injunctions.
Christian said: “My first couple of weeks have been a great insight into just how different things are at Knights.
“It's clear all across the business how focused everyone is on providing premium service in all regions of the UK – including here in the North East.
“For our clients that means they get access to one of the largest teams of expert family lawyers in the country – working alongside specialists in all areas of law to help clients with all challenges and opportunities.
“I'm excited to get going in earnest and help the business deliver on its plans for growth in Newcastle and beyond.”
Christian’s appointment is part of Knights’ ongoing expansion, as the firm continues to build its presence in the region.
With more than 1,100 professionals across 26 offices, Knights is ranked among the UK’s top 50 law firms by revenue.
Lisa Shacklock, client services director at Knights, added: “We're doing things differently to most law firms.
“It's very deliberate and is now really being noticed by brilliant lawyers like Christian who want to join a growing business that allows them to focus on what they are good at – delivering great service to clients.
“With his extensive and relevant experience, Christian has already made a big impact in the office, and I know his arrival will help us to build on our growing presence in the North East.”
