Nixon Hire appoints new CFO
Newcastle-based solution-based expert Nixon Hire is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Laker as chief financial officer (CFO).
Richard joins amid the company’s growing role as Experts in Sustainable Sites (EiSS), following a strategic transition in late 2024.
With over 10 years of financial leadership experience in the equipment hire and services sector, Richard previously served as finance director at Northgate plc, where he managed a 140-strong finance team and oversaw £400 million in annual revenues.
Most recently, Richard was CFO at Kalibrate, a global data analytics firm, where he led significant increases in revenues and EBITDA.
He has also held CFO positions in several listed and private equity enterprises.
Richard said: “Nixon Hire’s recent strategic repositioning aims to set the standard for customers seeking expert guidance in sustainable and technical site solutions.
“I believe this will drive increased nationwide demand, fuelling long-term growth.
“The company has a clear vision and I am thrilled to be joining at such a pivotal time.”
Richard’s appointment follows the departure of John Hudson, who stepped down to explore new professional opportunities after a successful tenure at Nixon Hire.
Graham Nixon, chief executive of Nixon Hire, added: “Richard brings a wealth of relevant experience to Nixon Hire and we are excited to have someone of his calibre on board.
“We are making great strides with the introduction of EiSS, and I have no doubt his strategic input and extensive background in managing ambitious growth will be invaluable as we continue to expand.
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank John for his dedication and contribution to Nixon Hire since 2022 and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
