St Cuthbert’s Hospice names new CEO
St Cuthbert’s Hospice has appointed Laura Barker as chief executive following the retirement of Paul Marriott after 12 years.
Previously head of income generation at the hospice, Laura has been with the charity since 2011, gaining deep insight into the sector’s challenges and the need for high-quality care in County Durham.
She said: “St Cuthbert’s Hospice is an incredibly special charity.
“I am inspired every day by the compassion and care shown by our wonderful team of staff and volunteers and the generosity of our supporters.”
“I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of chief executive at St Cuthbert’s Hospice and I am looking forward to continuing to work alongside our dedicated team to carry forward our mission and vision – ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our community both now and in the future.”
Paul added: “I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to lead this incredible organisation.
“I am delighted for Laura as she takes up this role.
“I know she will find it as rewarding and fulfilling as I have done.
“I am also thrilled for the hospice.
“Laura is totally committed to the delivery of services that the people of Durham need and deserve.
“I look forward to seeing the hospice grow and develop under her stewardship.”
Founded in 1988, St Cuthbert’s Hospice provides free care from diagnosis through to end of life.
