Raise a glass to Jesmond’s new bar
A new hospitality venture is preparing to open its doors in Jesmond, Newcastle, this summer.
Angel’s Share, a concept wine lounge created by husband-and-wife team Daren and Kate Knipe, will open in early June in the former Boots building on St George’s Terrace.
The venue will offer wines, beers, spirits, non-alcoholic refreshments, small plates and sharing boards, with self-dispensing machines allowing guests to sample a range of rare and premium wines by the glass.
Newcastle-based Mincoffs Solicitors supported the couple with legal advice around licensing and leasing, helping secure the premises despite initial objections.
Daren, formerly managing director of Blackrose Pubs, and Kate, an HR consultant, said: “The team at Mincoffs were at hand to help at every stage of the process and were paramount to the success of us obtaining the lease and change of use.
“It was great to work with such a commercially focused, contactable and supportive team.
“We will confidently work with them on future projects.”
Matt Foster, licensing and gaming partner at Mincoffs, who along with real estate associate solicitor Keith Ravenhill advised the couple from the outset, added: “It was our pleasure to advise Daren and Kate on Angel’s Share’s first venue.
“Angel’s Share is in a fantastic location with some really unique features, which promises to bring something new to the hospitality offering in Jesmond.
“We have no doubt the venue will be a go to destination once it opens its doors and we wish Daren and Kate the best of luck with the venue.”
