Recruitment firm branches out to Edinburgh

A North East recruitment firm is expanding its reach north of the border following continued growth across its specialist sectors.

Sunderland-based Adkins & Cheurfi, founded in 2016 by Dean Adkins and Melika Cheurfi, will open a new branch in Edinburgh later this month, marking the company’s first move into Scotland.

The expansion follows a strong year supplying talent to hotels, stadiums and venues across the North East.

Melika said: “We’re excited to open our second branch in Edinburgh this month.

“Expanding into Scotland is a natural next step for us, and there’s no better place to open our second branch than Edinburgh – one of the UK’s most vibrant, historic and culturally rich cities, with a thriving hospitality scene.”

The agency has also announced a series of appointments and internal promotions to support its growth across hospitality, legal and commercial recruitment.

New hires include Rebecca Dawson as finance assistant and Ami Harvey as recruitment consultant, while Lucy Connolly and Jak Thompson have stepped into senior roles as business development manager and divisional manager for the hospitality team, respectively.

Melika added: “This reflects our bold and ambitious vision for the agency as well as the thriving hospitality scene across the country, with the increased demand for quality staff helping drive up wages and create new opportunities for employees and businesses alike.

“We’ve seen our team grow here in Sunderland and we’re very excited about the potential that Scotland has to offer too.”
