Funding 'will help Sunset shine bright' with new jobs
A financial broker has unveiled job creation plans after securing six-figure support.
Sunset Commercial Finance says it will add to its team following Midlands Engine Investment Fund II backing.
Bosses at the Bedford-based consultancy say the cash will also bolster sales and marketing operations.
Founded in 2016 by director Raj Chahal, the company helps SMEs, property developers and entrepreneurs access funding arrangements such as bridging loans and asset finance.
Raj said: “The funding will enable us to expand our reach and enhance the support we offer to businesses, focusing on providing tailored financial solutions that help businesses manage cashflow, restructure and achieve growth ambitions.”
The business secured its cash package via fund manager Maven Capital Partners.
Paul Davis, Maven investment manager, said: “Raj’s extensive experience, combined with a clear vision for growth, aligns with our goal of backing ambitious SMEs that play a vital role in their local economies.
“This funding will allow the business to capitalise on its market potential.”
Operated by British Business Bank, the £400 million Midlands Engine Investment Fund II provides small loans from £25,000 to £100,000, debt finance up to £2 million and equity investment up to £5 million.
David Tindall, British Business Bank senior investment manager, added: “This investment in Sunset Commercial will enable the company to expand, create new jobs and make a positive contribution to the local economy.”
