Birds, gags and artistry take flight

A Newcastle gallery is set to welcome a new exhibition celebrating wildlife and surreal humour, as a well-known artist returns with fresh work inspired by the region.

Jim Moir, known to many as comedian Vic Reeves, brings Knot Twister Prologue to The Biscuit Factory, in Ouseburn, from May 16 to July 20. 

The show features a new series of expressive pieces celebrating Northumbrian birdlife, including puffins and kittiwakes, alongside local landmarks.

Blending ornithology with absurdism, Moir’s fourth solo exhibition in the city coincides with The Late Shows and follows a sell-out success in 2019.

Jim said: “I’m very excited to be back at The Biscuit Factory. 

“It’s a fantastic creative space, and I’m thrilled to share my new exhibition here. 

“The show brings together a mix of genres from my work – including birds, signed prints, and other intriguing pieces fresh from my studio.

“I hope the public enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.

“This is my fourth time exhibiting at The Biscuit Factory, and I’m honoured to have been invited back once again.”
