Burnetts to provide brain injury support
A Newcastle-based law firm is helping to improve legal support for families affected by childhood brain injuries.
Burnetts Solicitors LLP has been appointed by national charity the Child Brain Injury Trust as a partner in its newly restructured Legal Support Service, providing local families free access to specialist advice during some of their most challenging moments.
The service helps parents navigate complex issues related to education, care and financial security following a childhood-acquired brain injury (ABI).
Burnetts’ Citygate-based team is led by partner Paul Brown, a specialist in catastrophic injury claims, alongside serious injury partner Mick Laffey and court of protection partner Caroline Manningham.
Together, they offer families expert guidance to help them understand their rights, make informed decisions and plan with greater confidence.
Paul said: “We are so proud to be working with the Child Brain Injury Trust to provide free legal support for families in the North East.
“We are passionate about getting the best possible rehabilitation and support for families following brain injuries using our network of leading therapists, consultants and case managers.
“This is a labour of love for us and so to work alongside this amazing charity is an honour.”
Amelia Larard, head of marketing and fundraising at the Child Brain Injury Trust, added: “We are delighted to have Burnetts Solicitors as one of our chosen Legal Support Service Partners in the North East, supporting our work at Great North Children’s Hospital.
“This partnership strengthens our support for families within the region, providing a strong collaborative approach will ensure that families affected by ABI have access to expert legal services, should they need them.”
