Palletower racks up growth with acquisition
A provider of storage and logistics equipment has boosted its racking and shelving business by buying a Leeds-based firm.
Palletower, headquartered in Sale, has purchased Alternative Storage Systems, marking its fifth acquisition in the sector in just eight months.
Founded in 2019, Alternative Storage Systems designs and installs shelving and racking solutions for warehouses and commercial units across the UK.
Bosses say the move strengthens Palletower’s presence in Yorkshire and adds to a series of strategic expansions, pushing the company’s turnover from £40 million to £50 million and increasing the firm’s headcount to over 70 employees.
Matthew Palmer, owner and managing director of Palletower, which manufactures and supplies over 100 product lines including roll cages, trolleys, racking, stillages and storage boxes, said: “Alternative Storage Systems has an impressive customer base, particularly in the warehousing and food production sectors, and we’re thrilled to be bringing the company into the Palletower business.
“This strategic acquisition will continue to fuel the rapid growth in our racking and shelving division, further expanding our presence in the North and East of England and complementing our recent acquisitions in the North West and Humberside.”
Earlier this year, Palletower acquired Beverley-based Kingstonian Storage and Equipment Ltd, following the purchases of West Pennine Storage, WP Group, Astirvant and Yorkshire Storage in 2024.
