Builder eyes team growth after record revenues
A construction firm is building its team after a record financial performance.
MGM Construction plans to recruit a business development manager and fill a number of operational and commercial roles.
The blueprint comes after the Gateshead-based company chalked up £15 million turnover in its latest reporting period.
The figure – which represents a tripling of revenues since 2021 – has been driven by public and private sector contracts, including high-rise building improvements alongside Wearside-based housing association Gentoo.
The firm, which counts North Tyneside Council, Newcastle City Council and South Tyneside Council as clients, also provided structural steelwork repairs to Newcastle’s Times Square Car Park and previously secured a deal to deliver a £1.5 million revamp of Beamish Football Club, in Stanley, County Durham.
Phil Burridge, managing director at MGM Construction, which is part of Northern Bear plc group, said: “These really are exciting times.
“With strong support from the Northern Bear board, we have been able to change our structure, ethos and direction.
“And by adding key people to our management team and with internal development, we are in a strong position to target growth.”
