Firm 'will power up staff numbers' after takeover
A power sector firm is set to boost staff numbers following a takeover.
Approved Power Services aims to double its workforce over the coming year.
The blueprint comes after the St Helens-based high-voltage cable installer was bought by Inverness investment group GEG Capital.
Bosses say it will also strengthen Approved Power Services’ presence in the renewable energy sector – where it is already fitting cabling for projects including Somerset’s Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant – with the business able to “bid directly for high-value framework contracts”.
Under the terms of the deal, all Approved Power Services’ staff have remained with the business.
Paul Oakes, Approved Power Services’ owner, said: “We are delighted to join the GEG Capital portfolio.
“Not only will we immediately benefit from the opportunities created by collaborating closely with fellow group companies, but being part of a larger group will allow us to take Approved Power Services to the next level.”
Rory Mackenzie, GEG Capital board director, added: “Approved Power Services has built an outstanding reputation in the energy infrastructure and cabling sector.
“By integrating its expertise into our portfolio, we significantly enhance our ability to deliver end-to-end solutions, from planning and design to high-voltage cable installation, jointing and high-voltage commissioning for renewable energy projects.”
