Heating firm's training hots up with £250,000 deal
A heating and insulation company says it is primed to nurture the next generation of engineers after completing a £250,000 takeover.
Macbrook Gas has bought Norwich Gas Electrical Oil’s (NGEO) training centres.
Bosses say the move for the sites, in Rackheath and Norwich, will help “tackle a growing skills shortage” across the heating installation and renewable energy sectors by bolstering Macbrook Gas’ training programmes.
The company, based in Attleborough, has also bought land to create an academy, which it says will “further streamline training operations and establish a central hub for in-house development”.
Johnathan McKenna, Macbrook Gas director, said: “We are experiencing first-hand the lack of skilled professionals ready to work in energy installation, particularly to meet the rising demand in renewables.
“However, by taking control of the NGEO centres, we’re positioning ourselves to deliver the training we need, not only for our business but for the wider industry and region too.”
