Paint maker primed for glory with awards nod
A linseed paint maker is hoping for a brush with success after being shortlisted for a trade association honour.
Brouns & Co is a finalist in the BritishAmerican Business Transatlantic Growth Awards.
The nomination caps a strong spell for the firm, based in Sherburn in Elmet, near Leeds, which opened its first US warehouse last year and has seen a tenfold increase in demand.
Founder Michiel Brouns is also working with US architects and preservation bodies on numerous projects, which include the restoration of President Washington’s Mount Vernon summer home in Virginia.
He said: “It’s a great honour to be shortlisted from all the businesses across the UK; we already feel like this is a win.
“The US is a high-growth market for us, with so much historic and new build wooden construction, and we have huge opportunity to grow fast and create jobs in the UK and US.”
The BritishAmerican Business Transatlantic Growth Awards will take place in London on 19 June.
