Caulmert builds strong housing ties
A North Wales-based engineering consultancy is strengthening its footprint in the affordable housing sector with multi-million-pound projects.
Caulmert, with offices in Bangor and St Asaph, has worked closely with housing association Adra on several developments.
The work includes a £14 million scheme in Bodelwyddan, which will provide 49 affordable homes, including houses, flats and bungalows, in which Caulmert has provided key services including civil and geotechnical engineering and flood assessments.
Caulmert also secured contracts to help transform the old Lleiod Garage on Llanberis Road, in Caernarfon, into 21 social flats for individuals over 55, and a £4 million housing development in Penygroes.
David High, Caulmert associate, said: “It’s fantastic to continue our association with Adra and help facilitate the wonderful work it does in the region.
“We are working together on a handful of schemes in North Wales, and to see the impact that all of these affordable housing developments will have is hugely fulfilling.”
Huw Evans, Adra head of development, added: “The two companies have built an excellent working relationship over the last five years.
“It is a pleasure to work with a multi-disciplinary consultancy service that always provide a high-quality service.”
