Firm 'buoyant' after green work boosts progress
A building services contractor has hailed its green sector prowess after a raft of projects boosted its progress.
John N Dunn Group says it has entered the new financial year in “buoyant” mood thanks to rising demand for low-carbon services.
Bosses say the firm is benefiting from increased solar panel and electric vehicle charging point work, adding it has also installed 250 heat pumps in the last year – a rise of 50 per cent on its previous 12-month period.
And they say its progress will soon be bolstered by the arrival of seven plumbing apprentices across the business’ Newcastle head office and Leeds and Edinburgh-based sister operations.
Founded in 1893, the company employs 300 staff and provides mechanical, electrical and renewable energy support to clients including housing associations.
Stephen Bilclough, group chair, said: “Our approach of combining renewable energy with mechanical and electrical services is resonating with clients.
“Renewables is not just an aspect of our work, it’s central to everything we do.
“From the energy systems we install to the apprentices we train, we’re committed to shaping a greener, more sustainable future for our industry.”
Colin Langley, managing director of the group’s Edinburgh office, added: “Scotland has shown a particularly strong increase in its appetite for sustainable, low-carbon technologies.
“Demand for comprehensive services that span plumbing, electrical and renewable energy systems is on the rise as businesses and organisations across all sectors look to improve their energy efficiency.”
