Mayor set to face the public at open forum
A regeneration boss has launched a new series of public events.
Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen will face live questions at a special ‘Ask Me Anything’ event at Yarm School’s Princess Alexandra Auditorium, on Wednesday, July 23.
The event, chaired by local journalist Chris Lloyd, is the first in a five-date tour across the region’s boroughs, offering residents the chance to quiz the mayor in person.
The format follows the popularity of the mayor’s BBC Radio Tees show of the same name, which returns on Tuesday, July 2.
Mayor Houchen said: “Whether it’s at community meetings, on the radio, or in the street, I’ve always made it a priority to listen to local people, and this new series of live events will take that a step further.
“No scripts, no pre-submitted questions – just straight answers to whatever people want to ask.
“It’s your chance to hold me to account, raise concerns and hear about what we’re doing to improve life across our region.”
Further dates and venues for events in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Darlington and Redcar and Cleveland will be announced in the coming months.
Tickets are free.
