Hunting targets growth after £50 million deal
A precision engineering firm is eyeing international expansion after completing a £50 million takeover.
Hunting has bought Flexible Engineered Solutions Holdings.
Bosses say the deal boosts London and Aberdeenshire-based Hunting’s “offshore and subsea revenue profile”.
They add it provides potential to grow across Brazil, South East Asia, West Africa and the US, with Flexible Engineered Solutions’ tender pipeline and bid opportunities standing beyond £100 million.
Headquartered in Ashington, Northumberland, Flexible Engineered Solutions Holdings operates across the oil, gas and renewables sectors, providing fluid transfer systems used on floating production storage and offloading vessels, and subsea distribution systems.
Employing nearly 50 staff, its products include subsea control panels, vent hatches and spooling apparatus.
Under the terms of the deal, Flexible Engineered Solutions will become part of Hunting’s subsea technologies division, with its senior management team remaining in post for at least 12 months.
Jim Johnson, Hunting chief executive, said: “Flexible Engineered Solutions boosts our subsea portfolio with proprietary products and capabilities.
“Its blue-chip customer base, international profile and critical applications make the business an ideal fit.”
