Developer creates 'magic' city bungalow scheme
A developer has transformed derelict land into housing.
Morro Partnerships has created eight affordable-rent bungalows in Bushbury, Wolverhampton.
The estate replaces the ‘Magic Gardens’ recreational site, which was previously home to organised community activities but had stood unused since 2011.
The project was supported by a £600,000 grant from Homes England, with the two-bedroom properties now handed over to Bushbury Estate Management Board.
Councillor Steve Evans, City of Wolverhampton Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for city housing, said: “This is another example of our brownfield land-first strategy bringing small disused sites back into use for residents and communities.”
Tom Broadway, Morro Partnerships’ managing director (West Midlands), added: “The transformation of Magic Gardens into high-quality homes shows what’s possible when we bring purpose to every square metre of land.
“This project reflects our commitment to building better homes, regenerating forgotten spaces and helping councils create lasting local impact.”
