ASC adds senior business development lead
Logistics specialist Advanced Supply Chain (ASC), headquartered in Bradford, has appointed Jonathan Heap as senior business development manager as it expands its services for mid-to-large retailers.
Jonathan brings over 25 years of experience from roles at Wincanton, DHL, Argos, Starbucks and Asda.
He will connect retailers with ASC’s reverse logistics and sustainability-led solutions, including its Retail Ready service designed to reduce waste and speed up time to market.
Jonathan said: “There’s a growing trend of retailers prioritising added value throughout their supply chains.
“How this is achieved varies but is united by an ambition to create a competitive edge, whether that’s improving packaging sustainability, making customer returns quicker or standardising pre-retail logistics to cut bottlenecks and transportation mileage.
“ASC has solutions that meet retailer demand for smarter, more productive supply chains, and is supported by the extensive capabilities of Reconomy.
“Together, they are at the fore of the biggest opportunities and challenges impacting retail logistics, such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) or changing trade tariffs, which made for very compelling reasons to join the business.”
Jonathan’s appointment follows recent hires including key account director Karen Gibson and key account manager Jacqui Reed.
ASC is part of Reconomy’s Re-use loop, alongside ReBound Returns.
Andrew Hill, commercial director at ASC, added: “We’ve spent recent months evolving our services to make retail supply chains leaner, quicker and more sustainable.
“Jonathan’s experience and insight will help showcase these benefits to a wider audience of retailers and consumer brands that are keen to remain competitive, relevant and compliant in fast-changing markets.”
