Radcliffe seals £1.7 million solar roof deal
A construction firm has secured a contract to support a manufacturer’s green energy ambitions.
Huddersfield-based Radcliffe Construction will lead a £1.7 million solar re-roofing project for Elland-based Decorative Panels, which operates a 215,000sq ft base.
Bosses say the work includes a full overclad of 6700sq metres of existing roof and the installation of more than 2000 photovoltaic panels.
They add the scheme aims to “futureproof” Decorative Panels’ warehouse, significantly reducing long-term energy costs.
Paul Radcliffe, managing director at Radcliffe Construction, said: “We have a longstanding relationship with the team at Decorative Panels, and are delighted to be working with them again, having completed a 30,000sq ft warehouse extension in 2020.”
Mike Ervine, senior project manager at Radcliffe Construction, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with one of our longstanding clients, Firth Steels, who will be supplying the roofing sheets for this project.
“Having worked closely with the Firth Steels team on previous projects, it’s great to be able to specify one of their products that will help futureproof the Decorative Panels warehouse for years to come.”
