Technology firm shines bright with Primark work
A technology firm has helped illuminate a well-known retailer’s refurbishment plans.
Apollo3D supported an LED lighting upgrade across more than 350 Primark stores.
The Otley-based 3D mapping operator carried out virtual scans of shops across the UK and Europe, creating interactive walkthroughs for contractors to assess stores and plan work.
Bosses say the partnership has delivered “substantial, financial and operational benefits,” including reduced on-site visits and faster project rollouts.
They add the work has also helped Primark plan store reconfigurations, which include the installation of click-and-collect desks and self-service checkouts, and new beauty and home department layouts.
Mark Shepherd, Apollo3D founder and managing director, said: “This project really demonstrates the power of virtual mapping in large-scale infrastructure delivery.
“We’ve worked closely with Primark to refine the process, speed up site capture and deliver exactly the information needed.
“The result is a smarter, greener and more cost-effective way to manage upgrades across hundreds of sites.”
Scott Succoia, senior project manager, added: “Partnering with Apollo3D has transformed the way we approach major infrastructure programmes.
“Having instant access to virtual models of the stores gave us the ability to plan with confidence and move at pace.”
Founded in 2017, Apollo3D operates from Otley’s Wharfebank Mills and counts the NHS, Marks & Spencer, Greene King and OCS among its client list.
