Cleaner goals for Newcastle East End FC
A Newcastle-based cleaning company is helping a grassroots football club go greener with its pitch-perfect sustainability plans.
Edwards Commercial Cleaning has introduced Newcastle East End Football Club to the BioVate range of eco-friendly cleaning products as part of their long-standing partnership.
The relationship dates back 15 years, when Jonny Edwards, son of the company’s managing director, played for the club’s under-13s team.
Bosses say the move will help the club eliminate single-use plastics and adopt safer, more sustainable cleaning practices.
They add that Edwards, which has supported the club for over a decade, will provide the products alongside its usual janitorial services.
Paul Edwards, managing director of Edwards Commercial Cleaning, said: “East End is a fabulous club with 36 teams, including juniors, seniors, women’s and disability squads.
“It’s run entirely by volunteers and coaches who give up their time for free.
“The good they do, especially for young people in the area, is just fantastic.
“We’re delighted to help them in any way we can.”
The switch to BioVate reflects Edwards’ wider focus on sustainability, community partnerships and local sport, helping East End reduce waste and set an example for other community clubs.
