Sunderland strategist named among UK’s best
A County Durham-born digital strategist is gaining recognition as one of the UK’s most influential young businesswomen.
Amy Elise Mercer, from Sunderland, has been named to Management Today’s 35 Women Under 35 list for 2025, highlighting her leadership in digital marketing across sectors such as e-commerce, fashion and food and drink.
With a decade of experience working for major brands such as HelloFresh and Under Armour, Amy has built a strong reputation for driving SEO, influencer marketing and digital PR campaigns that reach millions.
Her strategic expertise and straightforward Northern approach have helped her stand out in the competitive UK marketing landscape.
Amy said: “Coming from a working-class background in the North East, I never expected to see my name on a list like this.
“But I’ve worked hard, stayed true to my roots and I’m proud to represent where I’m from on a national stage.”
Having recently left her role at Silverbean, Amy is now focusing on new opportunities that champion innovation, inclusion and the growth of Northern talent in the digital industry.
Amy added: “This award isn’t just about me; it’s about every young woman from a small town who’s ever been told to shrink themselves.
“I’ve always believed in making space for others, especially those who don’t see people like themselves in leadership.”
