Wake Smith Solicitors expand family law team

Sheffield-based Wake Smith Solicitors has strengthened its family law team with two new appointments.

Johanna Brewer, a solicitor with 15 years’ experience, joins alongside paralegal Stephanie Smart, who has five years’ experience in family law.

Their arrival follows the retirement of Lindsey Canning, head of family law for 24 years.

Johanna, a Law Society Family Law Advanced Accreditation holder, brings expertise across divorce, financial disputes, private children matters and domestic injunctions.

She said: “I chose to focus on family law early on to help people through a difficult time in their lives, whether that is a divorce, financial settlement upon divorce or children contact arrangements.

“I look forward to using my negotiating skills to ensure the best outcome, and aim to make clients feel as comfortable as possible, in what can often be a difficult time.”

Stephanie, a Leeds Beckett law graduate, has worked closely with Johanna for four years.

Wake Smith’s family team advises on all family law areas including prenuptial agreements, financial provision, and child contact disputes.
