Protein Works 'fit for £100 million sales' with new HQ
A health foods maker says it is feeling fit to smash the £100 million sales barrier and create jobs after a headquarters expansion.
Protein Works has moved into a new Liverpool base.
Bosses say the 100,000sq ft venture – known as PW Campus – will “support the next chapter of innovation and expansion” at the protein shake, snack and supplements maker.
They add it will build on a record-breaking 2024, which saw the firm chalk up best-ever profits on the back of turnover rising 40 per cent, and drive a 20 per cent increase in staff numbers.
The headquarters, in Speke, has replaced multiple Runcorn-based sites, uniting production, fulfilment, marketing and technology teams under one roof.
Laura Keir, chief executive, said: “This is more than just a new building – it’s a symbol of how far we’ve come, and where we’re going.
“At a time when many others in our industry have been facing challenges, we’re proud to be able to create best-in-class jobs and contribute to the economic growth of the North West.”
Nicola McQuaid, partner at YFM Equity Partners, which is backing Protein Works, added: “Reaching this milestone reflects just how far Protein Works has come.
“Over the past five years, the team has consistently delivered, with revenues surpassing £50 million and EBITDA doubling year-on-year.
“That exceptional performance has enabled the company to self-fund this major move, setting the stage for future success.”
As part of the move, Joseph Hook has been promoted to chief operating officer.
