Building supplies firm nets football sponsor deal
A building materials supplier has scored a football kit deal.
Huws Gray Group has partnered with the Professional Game Match Officials body.
The national aggregate, brick and wood provider’s logo will appear on the sleeves of referee, assistant referee and video official matchday and training kits across all English professional matches, from the Premier League to the Championship and League 1 and 2 this season.
It will also adorn officials’ kits in games across competitions including the FA Cup, League Cup and Women’s Super League.
The sponsorship follows a period of growth for Huws Gray Group, which employs about 5000 staff across 370 hubs in England, Scotland and Wales.
Its logo will debut in the Championship clash between Birmingham City and Ipswich Town tonight (Friday, August 8), and then feature in the Crystal Palace versus Liverpool Community Shield match.
Daksh Gupta, Huws Gray Group chief executive, said: “This partnership gives us an exciting opportunity to reach new and existing customers through football, while retaining neutrality and not showing bias towards a particular team.
“It also underscores our ambition to grow our presence and compete at the highest level.”
Howard Webb, Professional Game Match Officials’ chief refereeing officer, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Huws Gray as our new sleeve partner.
“It’s great to be working with an organisation that values the important role of match officials and shares our commitment to professionalism and excellence.”
