RTC North Opens Leeds Office to Strengthen Regional Growth and Innovation

RTC North has announced the opening of its new office in West Village, one of Bruntwood’s flagship developments on Wellington Street in the heart of Leeds. The move marks a major step in RTC’s mission to grow the competitiveness of the North and signals its long-term commitment to Yorkshire and the Humber.

By investing in Leeds, RTC is embedding itself more deeply within the regional ecosystem, not just delivering programmes, but becoming an active partner in the area which spans four mayoral combined authorities. The new base will provide a hub for collaboration, connection, and innovation, reinforcing RTC’s ethos of building partnerships that benefit people, businesses, and communities across the North.

Andy Taylor, Regional Lead for Yorkshire and Humber at RTC North, explained:

“This new office is more than just a workspace, it’s a hub for meeting clients, stakeholders, and partners. Being located in the heart of Leeds means we can be part of the thriving local ecosystem, connecting with early-stage and high-growth businesses, and contributing to the region’s economic future. It’s also a clear signal of our commitment to invest in and be part of the Yorkshire and Humber journey.”

The Leeds office underlines RTC’s ‘One Team’ approach, enabling the Yorkshire and Humber team to draw on the expertise of more than 70 Business Support Specialists based across the North who help businesses tackle their innovation, scale-up, productivity, skills and supply chain challenges. This ensures regional businesses and stakeholders can access the full depth of RTC’s knowledge and capability while benefiting from local, on the ground presence.

“Our strength lies in working as one Northern team,” added Thierry Delange, Business Development Director at RTC North. “From Leeds, we can connect businesses in Yorkshire to supply chain opportunities in other regions and vice versa, ensuring that companies benefit from the full breadth of the Northern economy. This directly supports the ambitions of The Great North agenda championed by the region’s mayors.”

The new office will also play a vital role in nurturing talent. RTC is currently recruiting two graduates to join the Yorkshire and Humber team, giving local young people the chance to begin their careers in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Taylor added. “For early career professionals, it’s essential to work alongside colleagues face-to-face, to learn and grow within a team. This office provides the perfect environment for our graduates to build their careers while making a real difference to regional businesses.”

RTC’s commitment to the future also extends to young people across the region. Building on the success of STEMfest Yorkshire, which last year brought together 3,000 schoolchildren and more than 50 exhibitors, RTC intends to make the festival an annual flagship event, inspiring the next generation of innovators, scientists, and engineers.

With the new office open, RTC North is poised to deepen its collaboration with local authorities, combined authorities, and businesses across Yorkshire and Humber. The organisation hopes the Leeds hub will become a welcoming space where stakeholders can meet, share ideas, and co-create solutions to the region’s challenges.

As Taylor concluded, “Our vision is for the Leeds office to become known as an open, collaborative space where stakeholders and businesses can come together, talk openly about challenges, and work with us to shape solutions that will drive growth and innovation across Yorkshire and Humber.”
