Rialto House opens doors to York students

A York-based student housing project is set to boost the city’s accommodation offering.

GMI Construction Group and Olympian Homes have celebrated the completion of Rialto House, a £50 million, 275-bedroom student accommodation (PBSA) development. 

Located on Fishergate, the four-storey scheme provides 80,000sq ft of modern living space.

It features a gym, yoga studio, games area, music and podcast rooms, co-working spaces, group dining areas, landscaped courtyards and cycle storage. 

An in-house cinema also pays homage to the former Rialto Cinema, which first opened in 1913 and famously hosted The Beatles in 1963.

Funded by Cain International and built by GMI, Rialto House is one of three PBSA projects GMI is delivering in York.
